Josh Duggar was found guilty of two counts of child pornography in December 2021. He was later sentenced to more than 12 years behind bars, and in June 2022, Josh was transferred to a federal prison in Texas. While Josh spent Christmas 2021 behind bars at an Arkansas detention center, this Thanksgiving will be his first in federal prison.
There is a special holiday menu at FCI Seagoville
Josh Duggar eats all three meals a day at FCI Seagoville and will continue to do so for the next 10 years or more. While federal prisons aren’t generally known for their cuisine, they do offer special holiday menus. Inmates, including Josh Duggar, at FCI Seagoville will enjoy a special lunch on November 24.
The prison’s holiday meal is served during lunch. During lunch, inmates will be offered turkey breast and baked ham based on the offer InTouch obtains. Sides will include green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, stuffing and rolls. Vegetarian options are also available. Lunch is accompanied by dessert. Dessert is generally not served as part of regular meals in federal correctional facilities.
Later in the day, inmates will have a choice of several sandwich options for dinner. Breakfast, according to the menu, will not deviate from the breakfast served daily in federal prisons.
Josh Duggar’s first Thanksgiving behind bars will also include special activities
Thanksgiving isn’t just about food. According to InTouch, inmates at FCI Seagoville will enjoy special events and activities on Thanksgiving Day. Movies and popcorn will be available. According to the publication, there is also a basketball tournament that inmates can sign up for.
On a normal day, Josh and the other inmates at FCI Seagoville are expected to follow a strict routine. All prisoners must be up and their beds made by 7:15. During the day, Josh must complete chores and follow the strict rules of the prison. Meals are also served at set times and the father of seven has only limited access to telephones and visitors. The prisoners must be completely quiet until midnight.
There’s no telling where Anna Duggar will be spending her vacation
While Josh’s Thanksgiving stay is explained, it’s unclear where Anna Duggar, Josh’s wife, will be spending the holiday. Since Josh’s arrest, Anna has remained in Arkansas with the Duggar family, but according to reports, there is tension between Anna and Josh’s family.
In October 2022, an alleged insider sat down with the Ashley Reality Roundup Group to discuss the Duggar family dynamic. The insider claims that Anna is hoping to leave Arkansas and move to Texas. Josh is reportedly against the move. According to the insider, Anna’s motivations for this step are twofold. The move would allow her to be closer to Josh and the prison she will spend the next decade in, and it would offer her and her seven children space from the Duggars.

Anna could choose to spend the holidays in Arkansas with the Duggars, or she could choose to visit her own family in Florida. It is also possible that Anna will stay with her sister Priscilla Waller, who lives in Texas with her family. Regardless of where Anna is vacationing, it’s unlikely she’ll make it public. She has been mostly absent from social media since Josh’s arrest.
